“compact and heartfelt celebration of community and intergenerational friendship. warmly recommended” Sydney morning herald

“full of cheeky humanity..."

stage whispers

“a heartbreaking tale giving and insight into what it's like to be at the wrong end of the demolition ball..."
the daily telegraph

Driven To New Pastures is a funny, poignant and realistic look at how suburban redevelopment affects individuals and neighbourhoods. It is told with Dennis’ trademark dry humour and astute insight into personal relationships.

Performed alongside 76-year old Minto local resident June Hickey, Driven to New Pastures tells the story of six public-housing residents who are on the brink of losing their homes.

This is an intimate theatre experience that highlights the vulnerability of aging and the sense of loss that comes with packing up your life and moving on.

Over the last five years Dennis has presented work extensively in the UK and central Europe to critical acclaim. She met June in 2009 whilst researching Driven To New Pastures.

Writer: Rosie Dennis
Performers: Rosie Dennis, June Hickey, Jackson Harrison and Frank Mainoo
